家の前で初めて会った黒柴の女の子。せとかちゃんで、１歳になったばかりだそうです。非常なビビリで、タイガと遊びたいけど、でもやっぱりコワイ、の繰り返しをしていたところへ、ドーベルマンのリアちゃんが通りかかりました。怖いもの知らずの仔犬のリアちゃんに勢いよく近づかれて「見たくない」状態のせとかちゃん。
I met this Black Shiba Inu, Setoka, a new face, in front of my house. She has just become 1 year old and very timid. She wanted to play with Taiga but too afraid, so she repeatedly approached Taiga and then withdrew. Then, Leah, the Doberman Pincher puppy I met earlier this month came along. She being a fearless puppy, Leah's approach was too eager, which put Setoka off completely.
リアちゃんの気を落ち着かせようとしましたが効果なく、
I tried to calm Leah down without any success.
せとかちゃんは行ってしまいました。リアちゃんは名残惜しそうですが、もう少し成長して落ち着けば年齢も近いので友達になれるでしょう。
Setoka left us in a hurry, leaving Leah looking at her longingly.
リアちゃんの関心はタイガの臭い嗅ぎに。
Leah then redirected her interest towards Taiga('s rear end).
ズカズカと遠慮なく。
No social grace.
タイガは嫌そうですが叱りません。
Taiga is not pleased but she does not tell her off.
他の年上ワンコにこれをすると躾けられるかも。
If Leah does this to other older dogs, she might learn a lesson.リアちゃんは本当に落ち着きがない。まともな写真は諦めました。
She is so restless that I could not get one decent shot.

今年の始めに見つけた八百屋さんへ行く途中に、菊好きの人の家があり知り合いになりました。食用菊の話になり、ちょうど畑から収穫してきた菊の枝を数本いただきました。株分け用に根っこを取って来ると言われましたが、あえて枝の挿し木に挑戦することにしました。
My acquaintance gave me branches of edible chrysanthemums that he had just brought back from his vegetable plot. 
何とも美しい花です。

これで活着すれば嬉しいですが、この時期に上手く行くかどうか。
I made a cutting to see if I could grow a plant - not an ideal time of the year but I will do my best to look after this one.
