We walked along the river in the opposite direction to the usual Johoku park, until we came to the park that lies at the foot of a shrine. This park used to be one of the designated places for rabies vaccination every spring, until we had the Covid scare. It is a shame that they no longer hold it in this park, since this place is much closer to my home than going to the vet's.
There was a Japanese maple tree with leaves still hanging on. The tree stood up in the sunlight filtering through taller trees' branches.
Since it was a weekday morning, the park was deserted - apart from the person clearing the fallen leaves, hardly any visitors.
We turned left and went up the hill. There was a large zen temple on the right and, across the road, there was a zen 'soba' shop. A woman was cleaning the outside and sprinkling water over plants before opening. I asked her permission to take pictures, to which she readily agreed.
No smell of meat coming from the zen culinary, so Taiga wasn't interested in hanging around.
