As a way to cope with Taiga's incontinence, I am experimenting with frequent walks. Today started with a walk at 6 a.m., followed by walks at midday, and after 3 p.m., which will be followed by walks at 8 p.m., and the day will finish with a final walk at midnight - 5 times in a day. So far, she has not had an accident yet.
Ideally, I should get at least 7 hours' continuous sleep at night, but I supplement my sleep by having a nap after lunch.
During the afternoon walk, we walked through a residential area and saw an unusual tree.
Some fruits (?) resembling figs were hanging from branches.
But, looking at the leaves, one would think it was a nut-producing tree, such as hazelnuts. I have never seen such a plant before. The owner of this house must have deliberately chosen this for his personal satisfaction. The house was built by an architect for himself.
They say in England that houses built by architects for their own use are always ugly. I saw several such houses in England and they always had this bare concrete walls outside. What is the significance? Actually, there is another similar house in my district with the same bare concrete walls, with another architect living in it.
Nearby, a house with Stauntonia hexaphylla vine.
Fruits are growing well.
We tried a new direction. I am hopeless with directions but, at least walking during the daytime, I can hope to catch someone to ask for direction if necessary.
The road was deserted - a testament to population shrinking? I cannot believe this is Saturday afternoon in autumn.
A temple.
I am always amazed to see what vast land temples in Nerima-ku have. Those I used to see in my native prefecture were so small-scale.
Dogs are usually not allowed to step into the grounds of temples and shrines in Japan, so Taiga just stood in front of the gate.
It looks more like an exclusive Japanese restaurant rather than a temple.
We went down the hill to the riverside walkway. "Four o'clock" flowers with yellow petals were still in bloom.
Yellow flower version is not common but, close up, they are so pretty.
