公園で At the park

 四中横の草地に着くと、久しぶりにビアデッドコリーのダンボに会いました。ダンボはタイガより１歳くらい上ですが、お互い子犬の頃に毎朝一緒に遊んだので、今でも会うとタイガは耳をぺたんこにして挨拶します。

When we arrived at the nearest field, we saw Dumbo, a male Bearded Collie, after a long absence.  Dumbo is about a year older than Taiga.  They used to play together every morning when they were both puppies.  So, even now, Taiga greets Dumbo with her ears flattened.

仕草から、いかにもタイガが低姿勢でダンボは余裕。

同じ草地の奥のほうにいたゴロウたちに挨拶に行きます。

Nearby, we saw familiar faces.

ラブラドゥードルのアルバスと妹のエプカも近づいて来ました。

Two Labradoodles: Albas and his new sister Epka.

アルバスはタイガより３，４歳下ですが、子犬の頃に毎夕方いっしょに遊んでいたので、今でも大の仲良しです。挨拶のあと、今にも遊びを仕掛ける雰囲気。

Albas is 3-4 years younger than Taiga but they used play together every evening when he was a new face, and they have remained great friends.  For a shy and timid dog like Albas, it means something to be able to play with Taiga even now.

動きが速いので写真がなかなか撮れません。

やっと落ち着きました。

橋を渡って公園の中央へ移動。

We crossed the bridge to reach the Central part of the park.

川を見下ろすと水が澄んでいて、朝日を受けてキラキラしています。

The surface of the river was glittering in the morning sun.

カモが集まっていました。

Wild ducks looking for food.

涼しい林の中を散策。

We walked through the woods since it was cool and pleasant.

向こうから柴犬のキリュウ（輝龍）がやって来ました。

Kiryu, male Shiba Inu came rushing towards us.

まだ１歳台の若者ですが、タイガに懐いています。年長のタイガに低姿勢で挨拶。

Kiryu is one year old and a timid dog but he feels quite comfortable with Taiga.  He starts kissing Taiga respectfully.

タイガがキスのお返し。

Taiga returns the kiss.

しつこいくらい挨拶が続きます。

Isn't it enough?

度胸がついたところで突然タイガに遊びを仕掛けてきました。

Kiryu suddenly feels bold enough to start playing.

若いキリュウはエネルギーはあるけどフェザー級なので、タイガが相手にするのに負担ではありません。

Although Kiryu is much younger with full of energy, since he is such a light weight, Taiga feels no burden.

ちょこちょこ動き回ったあと、やっと落ち着きました。

最後に、カレンダー写真になりそうなポーズをとってくれました。

Kiryu was obliging enough to pose for the camera.

帰りしなに四中横近くの草地でオヤツタイム。

Time for a treat for Taiga.

黄葉のピークのイチョウの木がありました。

オヤツが済んで帰ろうとしたら、タイガが動こうとしません。「俺は帰らない」なのか「もっとくれ」なのか不明ですが、とにかく動かない。

When I got up to go home, Taiga refused to budge.  Not clear whether she wanted more walk or more treat.

リードを引っ張ると、視線を逸らしたまま前脚をひろげて踏ん張っていました。

When I pulled the leash, she spread her front legs for firmer footing, all the time avoiding my eyes.

キウイのミニチーズケーキ Mini Kiwi Cheesecake

 これからの季節、パーティなどで喜ばれそうな小さなチーズケーキを作りました。当初は自家栽培のレインボーレッドを使おうとしましたが、サイズ不足で断念。そこで巨大なキウイを買ってきたら今度は型には大きすぎ。そこで、菊型でサイズ調整してトッピングに使いました。

公園で At the park

 一昨日の夜から昨日の朝にかけての雨嵐がウソのように良い天気です。でも気温が低いので日向だけ暖かい。冷えたおかげで公園入口のハゼの木はすっかり紅葉しています。

We had a heavy rain storm until yesterday morning but now we are back to a typical winter weather in Tokyo.  The tree at the entrance of the park is now completely red.

今年はこれで見納めかも。

This is probably the last of this tree for this year.

せっかくなので、タイガを入れて記念写真。こちらを向いてお座りするよう指示しましたが、

I wanted to take a photo of Taiga with the pretty trees.

ちゃんと座ってくれない。

She would not sit straight for the camera.

やっと座ったと思ったら、見せつけるように大あくび。

At last she sat down but with an enormous yawn.

オヤジ座りですが、まあいいか。ステテコを手作りしてはかせたら似合いそう。

She sits like a middle-aged man.

上の写真の奥のほうに写っているワンコたちに挨拶に行きました。

We went to say hello to the pooches in the far background in the above photo.

黒柴の小夏ちゃんと、シーズーのアース君。コロナ騒動の前は毎朝のように会えていましたが、今朝は久しぶりの再会です。

They were Konatsu, female Black Shiba, and Earth, male Shih Tzu.

公園の反対側の林を目指して川沿いを行きました。雲ひとつない青空が眩しいです。

We walked across the park to reach the woods on the other side of the park.

写真右下に写り込んでいるハトは人間に慣れていて、近づいても直ぐには逃げません。

The pigeon (bottom right) is a familiar face and is not afraid of humans.

向こう側の林に着くとイチョウがちょうど黄葉の真っ最中。

We reached the woods where the ginkgo trees still had leaves.

陽ざしの具合がまだ午前中とは思えない侘しい雰囲気です。

In spite of the blue sky and early hours in the day, the sun light is weak creating a wintry scenery.

このへんで引き返すことにしました。とにかく肌寒い。

We turned back to go home.

古代家のある林を通って帰りました。

We walked through the woods at the upper part of the park.

パッションフルーツの現在 Passion Fruits

 パッションフルーツの実がけっこう大きくなりました。開花した順番に1から5まであります。3番目の実だけ、別のツルに生っているので順番が変に見えますが、他の4個は下から順番に開花・結実しました。

The passion fruits are growing slowly but surely.  The fruits are numbered in the order of flowering.  There are two vines being supported and the 3rd fruit is growing on a separate vine. 

1と２は、ほぼお店で売られているレベルの大きさです。3の開花時点では、気温の低下の影響を受け始めたので、どこまで肥大するか疑問です。

The fruit 1 and 2 are already as large as those sold in the shop.  However, when the flower of the 3rd fruit opened, the weather had already turned cold.  So, it may not reach the size of 1 and 2.

４と５の花が咲いた頃には既に寒くなっていたので、小さいままで終わるかも知れません。とは言っても、５番目の実でさえ鶏卵のLサイズに何とか届いています。ただし、中身は空っぽかも？

The effect of the weather turning cold is more obvious in the fruits 4 and 5.  True, they flowered much later than the first 3, but the fruits are taking a very long time to grow.  Further more, I noticed white spots on the skin of the fruit even when the 3rd one started growing and the same thing has been happening with number 4 and 5.  I hope it is nothing serious.

３番目の実から気になり始めた点は、寒さのせいか幼果がまだギンナンの実程度の頃から白い斑点が果皮に出ていたことです。

葉っぱは巨大です。

The leaves are huge.
