去年の初夏にヤフオクで「レッド」として売られていた苗に、今年初めて３個の実が生りました。（黒っぽい小さいのはダラムズエメラルド。）３個のうち左下の２個は3週間くらい前に自然落果していたもので、右の１個は今朝落ちたもの。ダラムズエメラルドも落果してから３週間くらい経っています。
One of the finger lime plants I bought in summer last year was called "Red" without specifying what kind of red - it was not a variety. The plant had 3 fruits this year and they have now all fallen off the tree: 2 green ones on the left and the one on the right. The one with a darker skin is "Durham's Emerald". The 3 fruits on the left had fallen off the tree having matured some 3 weeks ago, and the one on the right came off this morning.
テンションがガタ落ちなので、果肉は透明なのか浅緑なのか、確認する気にもならず放置。
The so-called "Red" is not red at all - the plant had a wrong label. So disappointed, I could not even be bothered to check whether the flesh was transparent or slightly green.
ダラムズエメラルドは暗い緑色でお約束どおり。どこかのサイトでフィンガーライムは完熟落果したあと日持ちしない、という内容の記事を読んだことありますが、どちらも十分弾力性があり無問題です。しかも、この実とまだ木に残っている３個は、今年２度目の結実です。さらに、秋にも２，３の花が咲いていたのが今では1.5cmほどの幼果に育っています。
Durham's Emerald has never disappointed me - it has a dark green hue, just like emerald (although I have never seen the stone). Actually, this fruit is one of the 4 that grew after I harvested the first batch in the summer.
オレンジとレモンの砂糖漬けピールを作ろうと、色づいたものを取ってきました。レモンはリスボン（真ん中）とグランドレモンですが、リスボンの香りは強烈です。果樹栽培を始めたとき、お店であまり買えない品種にこだわっていましたが、レモンに関してはリスボンが最高だと思うようになりました。店のリスボンと自家栽培のとではとにかく別ものです。
I picked a few lemons and oranges from the garden, in order to make candied peels. They will be used for tea or fruit cakes.
