4時過ぎに今日３回目の散歩に出ました。公園に着くと珍しくスバル君とこの時間に会えました。夕暮れが迫っているので、お互い挨拶した後は別々に道を急ぎました。
We went out after 4 p.m. for the 3rd walk of the day. When we arrived at the park, we met Subaru, whom we normally meet during morning walks. Since it was getting close to dusk, we hurried our separate ways.
We went up to the higher ground of the park, where the Japanese maple tree, a variety called "Nomura", was in bright red even in the fading light. Pity it wasn't in the daylight.
昼間の時間がどんどん短くなっていくのを痛感します。今年の冬至は12月22日だそうで、あと３週間もないことになります。私にとって、寒さそのものよりも日が短いことのほうが辛いので、早く過ぎてほしいです。
The day is getting shorter and shorter towards the 22nd of December, less than 3 weeks away. Of the two evils, I prefer the cold weather instead of short daylight hours. So, I cannot wait to get passed the winter solstice.
初めて会った14歳の小型犬。だいぶ老化の影響が出ているそうです。数か月前、筋肉と筋肉が離れる症状が出て、腸を抑え込む力が働かなくなったために腸が出てくるヘルニアを患ったそうです。その手術からの回復に時間がかかり、最近になってやっと元気が出始めたそうです。タイガを怖がらずとても良い子です。
A new friend - 14 year old boy. He recently had an inguinal hernia, due to the abdominal muscles separating and not able to contain the intestine. It has taken a long time for him to recover from the operation but now he is able to go for a walk. He is such a sweet and friendly individual.
立ち話をしているうちに、じわじわと暗くなり始めました。
As we were talking, we realised that it was getting darker.
久しぶりに会ったバーニーズのジャム君（右）と、同じくバーニーズのレックス（左）。たくさん写真を撮ったのに、暗くてどれもボケていました。
On our way towards the exit of the park, we met two Bernese boys: Jam (right, and only the muzzle) and Rex (left). There was not enough light to get decent pictures.
無理やり載せると、レックスの２枚。レックスは指示するとカメラの前でポーズをとってくれたので、ボケ写真ながらも何とか掲載。
These two photos of Rex were just about recognisable. Rex is such an obliging individual who is willing to pose for the camera on cue.
