Of the two jujube plants that arrived on 23rdh March this year, one of them had virtually no roots, and I returned it to the seller. With the one I kept with me, the variety called 'Panzao', I cut it to about 25 cm above the ground leaving me with just one node.
When I placed the order, it was because I wanted this particular variety. Unfortunately, there is only one shop in Japan that deals with this, so I could not look elsewhere even though I was not really happy with the roots it had. In the end, I took a chance and cut the tree trunk short keeping one node only, so that the roots would concentrate on nurturing just this one node when the weather turned warm. Nothing has happened yet but I am waiting patiently.
I am pinning all my hopes on this ONE NODE.

The one on the left is called 'Early Crisp King', and the one on the right is 'Panzao' that I kept with me.
With the Early Crisp King, after I gingerly removed the dead parts, only the tap root was left. The tap root had no fine roots to start the growth of leaf buds, so I returned the plant to the seller.
