公園で At the park

 昨日の画像です。

ドッグランに入ると、ビーグル祭りの状態でした。飼い主さんたちによると、２，３人で落ち合った以外はあくまでも偶然だそうですが、10頭以上も揃うとまるでこれから狩りにでも出かけるような雰囲気です。

As we went into the dog park, we were surrounded by lots of Beagles.  According to the owners, it was by coincidence that there were more than 10 Beagles at one time.

みんな人懐こいこたちです。

Though they were emboldened by a pack mentality, they were all friendly dogs.

「群れ」の強気からか、ズカズカとタイガの臭い嗅ぎにやって来ました。

この子↓は鋭い目つきですが、しきりにタイガを遊びに誘っていました。

This individual with a sharp look was only trying to get Taiga to play with him.

柴犬のカリー君！　1歳になって顔つきがどんどん大人らしくなってきました。

Curry, male Shiba Inu, comes to say 'hello'.  Having reached one year old, his face is becoming more and more masculine.

遊びの誘い方にも自信が見られます。

He seems confident when he invites Taiga to play.

新しい子が入ってきました。さっそくビーグルたちにチェックされます。

保護された子だそうで内気です。2歳台の男の子。

As a 2-year old rescued male, he is very shy.

タイガにとって体格が似た子が来たので嬉しいのか、遊びに誘います。

Taiga approaches him to play, since he was more of her own side.

お互い緊張気味でワンプロや追いかけっこには発展しませんでした。

A bit awkward, and it never evolved into doggie wrestling or chasing.

次回からはもっと警戒心が解けるでしょう。

Perhaps next time, when they feel more familiar with each other.

帰り道。月の最終土曜日なので、この草地近くのお肉屋さんが一般に小売り・直売する日。長い列ができています。

 

四中横の草地で紀州犬のウメちゃんに会えました。

We ran into Ume, female Kishu Ken, on our way home.

ウメちゃんはタイガと会う前は他のワンコと接触したことがなかったので、どうやって遊べばよいのか分からずに、いつも興奮します。

Before she met Taiga, Ume had never come into contact with another dog (she is 8 years old, one year older than Taiga), so she does not know how to play yet.

今日は何が何でも臭い嗅ぎ。

Today, she is obsessed with sniffing Taiga.

しつこいので、さすがのタイガも「ヤメイ」をかけました。

Taiga says 'Enough!'.

タイガが飼い主さんに挨拶している間も「遊んでー」。

As Taiga was greeting Ume's mom, Ume was saying 'Let's play'.

ふたり横並びで写真を撮りたかったのですが、ふたりとも落ち着きがなくて絵になりません。

We wanted to take a photo of them sitting side by side.  It was impossible - they never stayed still.

ウメちゃん、もっと遊びたそう。本当はタイガより１歳年上の8歳なのですが、子犬のように見えます。

このあと一緒に帰りました。ウメちゃんちは、うちとは目と鼻の先です。

We came home together, since Ume lives just a stone's throw away from my house.

帰宅して、玄関前。

最近の寒さで、星タンゴールに元気がありません。鉢植えの小苗で実をつけすぎなのも良くないはずですが。

散歩から帰ると、スズメに餌やりが日課です。

After coming home from walk, I put out seeds for the sparrows.

スズメたちは、私が家の近くまで来ると待ちきれずに塀の上に降りて催促します。寒さで羽を膨らませているので、まるでコロコロに太っているかのように見えます。

In winter, they wait for me to come home, and the seeds disappear in a matter of minutes.

マンゴー風味チーズケーキ Mango Cheese Cake

 缶詰のマンゴーで作ったチーズケーキです。マンゴーはゼラチンが固まるのを防ぐタンパク質分解酵素を含むので、新鮮なマンゴーを使うときは一旦加熱する必要があります。そこで、安価な缶詰のものを使いました。ビスケットはアーモンドサブレで、プレーンとココア味の２種類作りました。

Mango cheese cake with almond biscuits.  The fresh mango has an enzyme that prevents gelatin from working, so I used tinned mango flesh.  I made 2 types of almond biscuits: plain and cocoa flavoured.

公園で At the park

 公園に着くと、久しぶりにタービュレンのルイ君に会えました。タイガの大好きなルイ君なので喜んで挨拶に行きます。本当はタイガのほうが年上なのですが。

As we arrived at the park, we met Louis, Taiga's favourite boy friend.  She greets him as if she were the junior of the two.

この後ルイ君からぶっ飛ばされそうなほどのオシリキックを受けたので、

タイガはプイ、と行ってしまいました。ルイ君は「テヘッ」とした表情。

その後、林の中を歩いていると柴犬のコンちゃんがやって来ました。二人とも大はしゃぎで追いかけっこ。

In the woods, Kon, male Shiba Inu, joined us.  They start chasing each other.

コンちゃんは俊足なのでタイガが追いつけませんが、

Kon is a fast runner and Taiga cannot catch up with him.

コンちゃんが止まってくれたので、まともに挨拶。

But Kon stops for her.

二人同時にブルブルしてタイガは変顔になっています。

コンちゃんのお母さんに挨拶。

Taiga goes to greet Kon's mom.

今度はコンちゃんのお姉ちゃんに挨拶。

Taiga now says hello to Kon's big sister.

タイガがだんだんと調子にのってきました。

コンちゃんは、「ブッサー」と言わんばかりの冷ややかな目線。

公園からの帰り道、初めて会うパグの子。１歳台の女の子で名前は「フク」ちゃんだそうです。

On our way home, we met a new face: one-year old female Pug, named 'Fuku'.

タイガにも私にも積極的に挨拶してくれました。

Fuku is extremely friendly and greets Taiga and me enthusiastically.

とても懐こく、タイガと遊びたくてしょうがない様子です。

She wants to play with Taiga but unfortunately we are on the road.

場所が路上なので一緒に遊ばせられないのが残念ですが、公園できっとまた会えるでしょう。

自家製エッグヌードル Home-made egg noodles

イタリア製のパスタを伸ばす・刻む機械を去年の夏に買ったのですが、以来かなり愛用しています。今回は強力粉 v.s. デュラム粉 の比率を２対１にして、太さの異なる２種類の麺を作りました。両方とも、とっても美味しいです。

I made egg noodles with fine semolina flour: 2 parts of plain flour, and 1 part of fine semolina.  Noodles of 2 different calibers, made from the same dough, they taste very different.

公園で At the park

 東京は今日も快晴。城北中央公園に着いた頃には陽ざしで結構暖かくなっていました。

お肉屋さん横の草地では、今年になって初めてヒナと会えました。さっそくお互い大喜びで挨拶。

We met Hina, another Kaiken, for the first time this year.  They are both so excited.

ヒナは年下としての挨拶の仕方です。

ヒナはタイガには臭い嗅ぎを許します。

And, she allows Taiga to take a sniff, which is a rare thing for her.

「もういいじゃろっ」

Still, enough is enough.

ボーダーのペッパー君もいました。

There was also Pepper, a male Border Collie.

ヒナママからプレゼントを頂きました。すぐに売り切れになる品で、わざわざ再販を待って取り寄せたものだそうです。図柄は、一目でわかる甲斐犬。この立ち姿と、差し尾のしっぽ。ありがとうございました!!! 😍😍😍

A present from Hina mom!  Unmistakably Kaiken silhouette.

せっかくのものなので、スチームアイロンをかけてから広げてみました。単なるタオルではなく、かなり凝ったものです。まるでサッカーなどのサポーターが首から下げているような長さで、縦横22cm x 107cm あります。

It is a towel sized 22cm x 107cm, sort of thing a sports supporter might wear.

公園で At the park

 公園からの帰りしな、四中横の草地を通りました。

In the field on our way home

風は無いのに一生懸命タコ揚げをしている女の子がいました。全速力で走ってタコの中に空気を入れることで何とか浮力を得ようとしています。

A little girl was doing her best to fly a kite.  'Kite' in Japanese is 'tako(凧)' which is pronounced in the same way for an octopus(鮹), and this kite is actually octopus shaped.

なべく高く見せるために、私は地面に片膝ついて撮りました。

The little girl was making a valiant effort but there was no breeze.  So I knelt down in order to make the kite look as if flying high.

ここまで上がると、タコらしく見えます。

よく頑張りましたね。

She did a good job.

公園のあとは屋敷林を通って帰ることにしました。こんなところが近所にあって一般に開放されているなんて本当にラッキーです。

サザンカが終わって、これからは椿の季節です。

キンカン Kumquat

 去年の秋に買った安いキンカン苗の実を、おせちの飾りに使いました。

苗を買って以来、何度も雨に当たっているので、農薬に関しては中性洗剤でほぼ洗い落とせるでしょう。ということで、１個味見。その前にサイズ測定。果長は3.6cm+ ありました。

幅は3.5cm近く。これならスーパーで「タ〇タ〇」のブランド名で売られている金柑に負けていないでしょう。

3.5cm wide

試食する前に糖度計を当ててみたら15.2度ありました。とても甘くて美味しいです。
