お彼岸に合わせて、うちのヒガンバナが咲き始めました。猛暑の夏であろうと気候に関係なく彼岸に咲くということは、日の長さに開花のタイミングが支配されるのでしょうか。
My spider lilies (Lycoris radiata) have started to flower, just in time for the autumn equinox. The name for the spider lily (Higanbana) means 'autumn equinox flower'. The weather during the summer leading up to the flowering of this plant does not seem to affect the timing, so I suppose that the flowering is determined by changes in the length of daylight hours.
There are more flower buds coming out, so I should be able to enjoy them for several days.
こちらはピンクのヒガンバナ。桃色花の品種は、洋ものリコリスではなく正真正銘のヒガンバナです。数年前に四国の育苗者から購入したもので、マニア向けです。
I also have rare, pink spider lilies. These are genuine spider lilies and not European lycoris varieties that have been introduced to Japan in recent years. I got these several years ago from a grower in Shikoku Island. These were selected from mutations.

ウロコ雲がはっきり。
今日は一段と涼しい朝で、タイガは散歩中 見るからに楽しそうでした。ワンコは本当に涼しい気候が好きです。
The air in the early hours of the morning was cooler than recently, and Taiga looked happy as she walked. Dogs really like cool weather.

こちらの空は、まるで水面にさざ波が立ったような模様です。
This part of the sky looks more like water surface with tiny ripples.
先日この草地の横を通ったときは、夏草にベンチが埋もれていましたが、ついに草刈り作業が入ったようです。
When we passed by this field the other day, the grass was so tall that the benches were buried among it. At last, they have cut the grass!
タイガはゴキゲンで草風呂を始めました。
Taiga happily started her usual 'grass bath'.
築山の上でオヤツタイムしていたら、スバル君が珍しくお父さんと散歩して通りがかりました。いつもはママが散歩させるのですが、フラフラあちこち動き回り、こんなにタイガの近くまで来ることはありません。様子を見ていると、お父さんと一緒だと優等生のような態度でムダな動きをしません。
When we were having a treat break on the mound nearby, our acquaintance, Subaru, came along with his dad, which was unusual. Normally, Subaru's mom takes him out for a walk, and he keeps walking about restlessly. Moreover, he would never come this close to Taiga, as a timid individual. I noticed that, with his dad, he is perfectly well behaved and does not fidget.
お父さんは終始タイガの背中を撫でていて、スバル君のリードは短くキープされているので、タイガが近づいても逃げようがない。
His dad kept stroking Taiga's back, while holding Subaru's leash very close. As a result, Subaru could not run away when Taiga got close to him.
スバル君、がんばったね。
