散歩　Walking

四中草地の手前にあるマンションの花壇には今、色とりどりの菊が咲いています。元々は低木のツツジだけが植わっていたところへ、誰かが根気よく色んな小菊を植えているようで、数年前から徐々に増えてきました。

近づくと、昔ながらの小菊の匂いが強烈にです。この匂いが好きなので、私はポットマムやベルギーマムなどの品種は興味ありません。

These seem to be indigenous, very basic flowers, and they have powerful scent unlike those cross-bread varieties imported back from Europe.

このピンク、何ともいえない色です。果樹栽培にはまってさえいなければ、庭中に小菊を植えたいです。

The petals look sparkling in the sun.

When I first came to live in this area 26 years ago, this flower bed had only azalea bushes, but someone has been planting chrysanthemums little by little over the years.

ずっと菊を眺めていたかったですが交通量の多い道なので、四中横の草地へ移動。さっそくタイガが大きな石目がけて引っ張り始めました。子犬の頃、この草地の石に飛び乗るとオヤツを与えていたので、今では「ベンチ」に準ずるものとしているようです。

We reached the field next to a Junior High School. Taiga heading straight to one of the boulders where she expects a treat (I used to reward her with a treat when she was a tiny puppy for jumping onto the boulder).

ドヤ顔。道の向こうの草地では保育園の生徒たちが、ピクニックランチの準備をしていました。

Getting a treat on this rock is a given. In the field beyond, kindergarten children having a picnic lunch.

この草地の棚には今アケビが生っています。五葉アケビのツルしかないので実は生らないものと思っていましたが。

しかも「白実」。ミツバアケビも植えると、もっと生ると思うのですが、地元園芸店でミツバは見かけないです。

Akebia quinata - they are usually purple on the outside, but these are very rare white ones.

帰り道、小さなちいさな黒柴の子に会いました。10歳の女の子で名前はツバキちゃん。なぜか、タイガの背中の毛が立っています。

On our way home, we met a tiny Black Shiba Inu. Named "Tsubaki", she is 10 years old, but she looks younger than Taiga. For some unknown reason, Taiga's hair is standing straight.
