朝散歩 Morning walk

 今朝は暑いのなんの。私は少しでも早く家に帰りたかったけど、タイガは散歩を楽しんでいるようでした。公園の赤花西洋トチノキが満開です。タイガが子犬時代からここの木陰のベンチでオヤツをもらう習慣があるので、いつも勝手にこちらへ向かいます。

It was stifling during the morning walk to the park but Taiga seemed to be enjoying the green grass and the air.  The horse chestnut tree is in full bloom.  Taiga has been getting a treat at the bench under this tree since she was a puppy, so she always pulls me towards this direction.

イギリスでは赤・白の西洋トチノキとサンザシの花が初夏を代表するような野生の花です。サンザシは牧草地の生垣のように植えられていて、白く雪が降ったようなラインが延々と続く風景にはほのぼのします。

The horse chestnut and hawthorn blossoms always remind me of early summer in England.  As I lived in the countryside, I used to love looking at these trees.  Particularly, I loved the endless hawthorn hedgerows in the meadow, covered with white flowers as if snow had fallen over the trees.

木陰のベンチで一休み。

I sat on the bench under the tree.

お約束のオヤツ。オーブンで乾燥させて作ったチキンジャーキー。

As expected by Taiga, a treat.  I made chicken breast jerky, dried in the oven.

なんともマヌケ顔。

An unguarded face, looking silly.

元の顔に戻りました。　「良いから、もう一枚くれ....」

Back to her usual face.  "Never mind, just give me another."

ボーダーコリーのモノが来たので、一緒に帰りました。

Taiga's friend, Mono, a male Border Collie, came along and we set off for home together.
