公園近くのマンション前の花桃が満開近くなっていました。
A flowering peach tree near the park was almost in full bloom.
A mimosa tree in front of a private house was at its peak.
この花を見ると、砂糖漬けにしたスイーツの飾りを連想します。バブル期以前の昔はお店で時々見かけましたが、今では大手スーパーの製菓材料のコーナーでも見つけられません。自分で作ろうとすると気が遠くなるほど時間のかかる作業なので、途中から涙目になりそうなほど。
These flowers remind me of the candied mimosa flowers that are used for decorating sweets. I used to be able to buy them in the 80's but now I cannot find them even in large supermarkets. To make candied mimosa flowers is so time consuming that you begin to regret that you ever began the task.
城北中央公園のコブシの花も満開。子供の頃、山で見かけた野生のコブシの花はこんなに立派なものではなかったので、もしかしたら園芸品種として改良されているのでしょうか。モクレンの花を一回り小さくした感じです。
The kobus magnolia trees in the park have started to open. These being wild plants, the flowers are smaller than real magnolias but, if you come across these while walking in mountains, you will find them very attractive.
ケビンは嬉しくて大興奮です。
柴犬３頭。左から、豆柴のケビン、赤柴のヤマト、黒柴のソラ。ヤマト、ソラ、タイガは、ほぼ同い年。お互い幼馴染ではなく、４，５歳の頃に知り合った仲ですが、散歩中に会うと嬉しそうな顔をします。
そこへ、生後数か月の豆柴ケビンがやって来ました。
Three male Shiba Inus: clockwise, Kevin, a miniature Black Shiba; Yamato, a Red Shiba; Sora, a Black Shiba Inu. Yamato, Sora and Taiga are more or less of the same age. Although they met each other only after reaching 4 or 5 years, they are good friends.
There arrived Kevin, the puppy less than 6 months old.
Kevin is all excited to meet other dogs.
怖いもの知らずで、大人たちに「遊んで」アピールをしています。
Being a fearless puppy, he invites the grownups to play with him.
ケビンがヤマトのママにスリスリ。
熟年たちの反応はイマイチ。
A lukewarm response from the mature individuals.
それを受けてケビンも落ち着いてしまいました。
Their response was enough to calm Kevin down.
ヤマトが落ち着いたケビンの相手をしてくれました。ケビンが何ともカワイイ。
When Kevin was sufficiently calm, Yamato started greeting him. Kevin looks so adorable.

ついでに私のほうへも。ケビンは早々と去勢手術を受けたあと、他所のワンコと会っても以前のような爆発的な興奮状態からは脱したようで、少し大人っぽくなりました。
He then turned his attention to me. After getting neutered, Kevin has gradually turned into a more manageable puppy - not so explosively excited when meeting other dogs. The operation has had a desirable effect on him.
