黒生姜 Black Ginger

 スーパーからの帰りに地元JAに立ち寄ったら、珍しいものを見つけました。

On my way home from daily shopping, I dropped into the gardening shop nearby and found something interesting.

黒生姜の苗です。小さな苗ですが、3本の茎が出ているので植えつけるときは株分けする予定です。帰宅して色々ググったのですが特に黒生姜の育て方というのは出てこなかったので、普通の生姜と同じように扱おうと思います。以前、近江生姜を一度だけ育てたことがあります。

この「希少品種」という文句に弱いもので、つい。ま、失敗しても350円の苗１個なので諦めもつきます。

The label says 'a rare variety' - I am partial to such things.

また、テレビを見ていたらサプリの通販で、黒生姜には色々な効能があるような宣伝が出て来たので、テンション上がりました。

It seems that black gingers have a lot of health benefits and they are used in a lot of supplements in Japan.

玄関前の黄色い食用菊「松風」が咲き始めました。

The edible chrysanthemum in front of the porch has started to flower.

綺麗でとても気に入っているので、今年は観賞用にとどめます。
