公園へ向かう道の半分も来ていないのに、タイガは大小の用を足したらもう「帰りたい」の意思表示を始めました。
Taiga wanting to go home after finishing her morning 'business'. We haven't come half way to the park yet.
When I encourage her to come along, she glances away.
でも、オヤツで釣ってようやく公園に到着。
I somehow coaxed her to come to the park, with the help of treats.
イチョウの実が落ち初めています。
Ginkgo nuts are starting to fall off.
まだ臭わないので未熟果のようです。
They are not smelling yet, so the nuts must be not yet mature.
すぐ近くのキンモクセイが咲き始めていました。まだ花の香りは強烈ではなくて、ちょうど良い程度。
上のほうへ移動すると、藪がきれいさっぱり取り除かれていて、毎年、開花・結実を観察してきた日本のニワトコの木まで無くなっていました。かなりショック。でも、ニワトコは棗のように地下茎でも増える性質があるので、地中の根っこが抜かれていなければ来年の春に芽が出るでしょう。
This place used to have a very dense bush but they have cleared it up, including the Japanese elder tree! I have always looked forward to seeing the blossoms and berries in spring. So sad.
The 'fragrant olive' tree's blossoms are coming into season. Those flowers are a definite sign of autumn's arrival.
季節の移ろいに伴う情緒を理解しないタイガは、自分のことだけ。
As I was indulging myself with some poetic sentiment regarding the change of season, Taiga was only interested in her needs.

Taiga seems to think that she has done me a favour by coming along to the park and now she wants a treat before going home. So she led me to the usual 'treats' spot.
