無斑点黄金オニユリ Golden Tiger Lily with no spots

ヤフオクで黄金オニユリの球根を落札したのが、今日の夕方に届いていました。今回のも黒いスポットが付かない、素芯の黄色い花です。今日のは開花球根だそうで、来年が楽しみです。発送の際、十分な水分を含ませてあったので、根っこがパリパリしています。明日の朝、深鉢に植え付けます。

Just received a bulb for Golden Tiger Lily with no spots.  Tiger lilies are indigenous to Japan but tiger lilies with no spots are extremely rare.  According to the seller, this bulb produced flowers this summer, so I can expect to see golden flowers as early as next summer.

 

今回のユリの参考写真です。球根が充実してくると、このように何輪も同時に咲くようで、とても賑やかな様子です。写真の掲載については、出品者さん（yuri-licorice-world）から許可を受けています。

  

新疆ナツメ王試し採り Xinjian Jujube

地植えとして初めての結実ですが、最近少しずつ色づき始めてきたので試しにとってみました。

なお、カタログのセールス文句で、「果汁がしたたる」とか「追熟が可能」というのは全くのウソです。果汁はありません。追熟に関しては、ナツメは収穫したら3，4日のうちに果肉が軟化して腐り始めるので、直ぐに生食するか、あるいは砂糖煮や乾燥果にするなどの処理が必要です。

ちいさい。でも色が綺麗で、新疆のナツメのことを総称のような表現で「紅棗」と呼んでいるサイトを見たことあります。バルコニーに鉢植えで置いてある和田玉棗も「紅棗」です。

ここまで赤くなる前の、実の半分くらい色づいた頃から味がのるので、その頃にもいで直ぐに食べるのが良いと思います。

食べる前に糖度計を出してきました。あくまでも糖度計の数値ですが、46.0度。果汁もないのに、よく糖度計が反応したと思います。実際、甘いことは甘いし酸味もあるので、個人的には好きな食べ物です。

Even though it has little moisture, the sugar brixmeter indicated 46.0% sugar content.

念のため、もう一個とってきて計ったら39.7度で高糖度です（あくまでも機械の数値）。

I could not believe it, so I went into the garden and got another, which showed 39.7% sugar content - somewhat lower, but still incredibly high level.

公園で At the park

 今朝起きたときはまだ小雨が降っていましたが、朝散歩で家を出る頃には青空が広がっていました。城北公園手前の屋敷林を通りました。この先のファミマで支払いをする予定だったので、その途中です。ここは柿の木が数本植わっているので、色づくのを眺めるのが毎年楽しみです。

A beautiful morning with crisp air.  We passed the privately-owned woodland on our way to the park.  Here, there are several persimmon trees and I enjoy watching the colours change when the fruits ripen and leaves turn autumn hue.

この屋敷林には柿の木の他に椿が20本以上あるので、冬の間の楽しみです。

Also, in this woodland, there are more than 20 camellia trees - this woodland used to be a part of the main house's garden which is still inhabited.

屋敷林の向いにあるファミマ。タイガはこのワンコ用係留スポットが大好きで、ファミマに用のないときでも、横の道を通りがかりに私をグイッと引っ張ります。私が支払いを済ませて出てくると、オヤツ顔のスマイルで待っています。（支払いは、昨夜、ヤフオクで無点黄金オニユリの球根を落札したためです。）

Taiga waiting while I was making payment for the lily bulb that I had bought last night at the internet auction.  She knows that she will be rewarded with a treat when I come out.  So, she loves this spot and tries to pull me towards here every time we pass by.

四中向こうの築山のある草地へ行くと、初めて見る小さな黒柴の子がいました。幼そうなのに、怖いもの知らず顔でタイガに近づいてきます。

At the park, we met a new face.  A female miniature Black Shiba Inu, named Okoge.  (The word 'okoge' means burned food, particularly the burned part of cooked rice.)

一旦　挨拶が済むと、今度は一人でくつろぎはじめて、頭の後ろをポリポリし始めました。

As soon as the first meeting was over, Okoge started relaxing.  She seems unusually at ease for a puppy.

この緊張感ゼロの顔。まだ搔き続けています。

She was in no hurry to finish scratching herself.

すっきりした？　名前は「オコゲ」ちゃん、生後6か月だそうです。まだ子供とは言っても、最終的にミニ柴級の大きさで落ち着きそうです。

She is soooo cute that, if I were her mom, I would not be able to train her.

オコゲちゃんは、どこか不思議なくらい落ち着いたところがあって、マイペースでくつろいでいます。

この目。こんなに可愛い子は、私だったら躾けられないと思います。

タイガの存在はもう忘れて、あくまでもマイペースの時間を過ごしている感じです。

公園で At the park

 城北中央公園の売店前広場で、ドッグランへ向かう前に一休みしました。

We had a brief rest before we headed for the dog park.

オヤツを出すと、もうヨダレが。。。

The moment she caught a glimpse of the treat, the saliva.....

「待て」の指示を出すと、オヤツから目をそむけます。これが落ち着いたワンコの典型的な行動だそうです。

I told her to 'wait' and she looked away in order to avoid seeing the treat, just as Cesar Millan explains in his program.

オヤツのあとはドッグランへ。ラン手前の花壇はいつ見ても綺麗に管理されています。ボランティアさんに感謝。

We headed for the dog park, passing by the flower bed that is managed by a lady on a volunteer basis.

ランに入ると、初めて見る真っ黒い子がいました。タイガに引いていますが、甲斐犬とクロラブのミックス犬だそうで、名前はミクマ、２歳の男の子。

We went into the dog park and saw a black individual looking like a small Labrador.  According to his owner, he is a cross between a Kaiken and a Labrador.  Named, 'Mikuma', 2 years old.  He looks a little intimidated by Taiga's approach.

この子も初めてです。タイガよりも小柄なホワイトレトリーバーで、９歳の男の子。とても９歳とは思えないくらいの綺麗なコンディションですが、飼い主さんによると小柄なので大型犬よりもゆっくり年をとっているのだろうということです。

Another new face: a tiny White Retriever.  He is actually smaller than Taiga.  Aged 9 years old, he is one year older than Taiga but looks like a puppy.

フレンチブルドッグのホップちゃんもいました。

タイガが再びミクマ君に興味を示しています。背中の毛を立てて精神集中。

逃げ回っているという感じです。

ミクマ君は近くの騒ぎのほうが気になるようです。小さなシェルティーがボストンテリアとワンプロ中でした。近くにいる真っ白なサモエドは、エミルちゃんかと思っていたら別の子で、名前はソラン君、1歳半。

There was a small commotion nearby and Mikuma seemed more interested in that direction.  A Boston Terrier and a young looking Shelty were in the middle of doggie wrestling.

ボストンは適当に小さいシェルティーがとても気に入っているよう。

シェルティーは幼そうですが根性のある子で、今度はミクマ君を襲っていました。

At last, Mikuma got the Shelty's attention.

飼い主さんによると、まだ生後6か月の子供で名前はラルゴ。何か、高級車のモデル名のような名前です。

The Shelty is only 6 months old, named Largo.

公園で At the park

 今朝は曇りで涼しい空気の中での散歩。四中横の草地に着くと、酔芙蓉が咲いていました。

A very much autumn-like morning with a nice breeze as we arrived at the park.

公園の酔芙蓉はどの株も一重咲きです。以前、八重咲のを庭で育てたことがありますが、驚異的なスピードで育って、その木が満開になると大玉の花火が開いたように綺麗でした。

花を見ていたら、向こうからタービュレンのルイ君がやって来ました。

As I was admiring the flowers, Louis, 7-year old male Tervuren, came towards us.

タイガのボーイフレンドですが、久しぶりのせいかお互いぎこちない。

Louis is Taiga's boyfriend but they were a little awkward, probably because they have not seen each other for some time due to Covid restrictions.

タイガが脚をかけて遊びに誘いますが、ルイ君は乗り気ではなさそう。

Taiga invites Louis to play by putting her paw on his shoulder, but he is not keen.

で、あっけなく再会が終わりました。

He soon left.

タービュレンはジャーマンシェパードのように美しい犬種なのに、写真にとると別物。本当に損しています。

ルイ君が去ったあと、他の株も鑑賞。

I went back to admiring the flowers.

酔芙蓉は夏から晩秋までずっと咲き続ける有難い花です。うちの八重のは11月になっても咲いていました。

タイガは草の上で一休み。8歳になってからは運動量が減りました。

得意のブサカワ笑顔。目のあたりが年齢を感じさせます。

急に「ン？」という表情になったのは、こちらに近づいてくる柴犬のハク君に気付いたから。

Suddenly, her demeanour changed - Haku, 2-year old male Shiba Inu was coming towards us.

何か月ぶりかの再会です。コロナの影響で公園の人出が少なくなると、ワンコと会う機会も減ってしまいました。

Again, we hadn't seen Haku for a long time, due to Covid.

ハクは2歳の若者で、まだ子供っぽいです。

Haku behaves more like a puppy than a 2-year old.

タイガが飼い主さんに挨拶している間、おとなしく待っています。

お互いちょうど帰るところだったので、同じ方角だし一緒に帰りました。

Since we were about to leave, and our homes lie in the same direction, we set off together.  Haku and Taiga looked really happy walking home together.

なぜか哀愁ただよう姿。

一緒に帰るのが楽しくて、先を歩いたり後になったりの帰路でした。
