公園で At the park

 今日も清々しい朝。城北公園の柿の木広場へ行きました。ここはしばらく草刈りをしてないようで、シロツメクサがぼうぼうに生えています。花の匂いが何とも懐かしい。子供の頃、花輪を作ったのを思いだします。

Another beautiful morning.  We went to the Persimmon Park.

タイガは柿の木陰で一休み。

春シオンも満開ですが、草丈が伸びているので野原っぽい良い雰囲気です。写真では白っぽく見えますが、実物は濃いめのピンクで綺麗です。

The grass in this park has not been cut for some time (which is nice), and wild flowers were in full bloom.  These are spring aster tataricus.

友達のゴールデンレトリーバーのラブちゃんが到着したので、タイガは迎えに行きます。

Taiga's friend, a 3-year old female Golden Retriever named Love, has arrived and Taiga goes to meet her. 

もう１年以上会っていなかったので、お互い大興奮。

It has been more than a year since they last played together.

ラブちゃんには１年半くらい前に弟ができたので、ベビーカーを守るように寄り添って散歩する姿を遠くから見かけたことがありますが、こうやって解き放たれるともう嬉しくて爆発的に駆けまわっていました。

A little (human) brother was born a year and a half ago, and she has been protecting him walking beside the baby cart.

Once Love was set free, she exploded with energy.

ラブちゃんはまだ３歳くらいの子なので、エネルギーに溢れているはずです。

私に対してもピョンピョン跳ねながらアピールしていました。

She wanted me to play with her, too.

タイガと走り回って、ちょっとは息抜きになったかも。

I hope it was a nice distraction for Love playing with Taiga.

帰り道に通りすがった公園の一角の花壇。花が満載です。

いつも通る近所の屋敷林とは道を挟んで向かいにある畑。その端に桐の巨木が花を咲かせていました。

Paulownia tomentosa in full bloom.  A chest of drawers made of this tree is a luxury item - brides used to take it to her new home.

主幹は真っ直ぐでかなり太いので、タンス何棹分にもなりそう。

This tree is absolutely huge, and standing upright.

去年の夏に買ったブラックベリーのナバホの小苗に花が咲きました。この苗は米国から個人輸入をした人から買ったものですが、苗と一緒に収穫したばかりの実も送られてきました。食味はオセージと似ている印象でしたが、苗が充実したらもっと個性が分かるかもしれません。今日咲いた花の色はオセージのよりも薄いピンクです。花びらの形も違います。

Blackberry: Navaho.  I bought the plant last summer, so this is the first flower.

こちらが以前からあるオセージ。ピンクが濃いし花柄も大きいので、野バラを見ているようです。花びらの形は、ナバホの細身のとは違い、丸っこいです。私の大事な、大事なブラックベリーです。

Blackberry: Osage.  The flowers are larger than that of Navaho, with a deeper pink colour, looking like wild roses. This is my best favourite blackberry plant.
