昨日も一日中雨だったので、今朝は空気がいつもより綺麗に感じられました。公園は緑が一層濃くなって、もう５月の初夏のような雰囲気です。
After another rainy day yesterday, the air was really clear this morning.
We crossed the bridge to go to the central part of the park.
川の右側は数年前から工事中。洪水の際の水を収容する空間を地下に建設しているのですが、完成して元の草地に戻される頃にはタイガはとっくにいなくなっているでしょう。タイガがうちに来てから４年余り、毎日あの草地に集まる群れの一員として走り回っていたのですが、そのときからの幼馴染たちは今でも仲良しです。
The righthand side of the park used to be a huge grass land but currently it is under construction - they are building an underground space to take in flood water. The whole operation will last more than 15 years - beyond Taiga's lifetime.
入口の広場で一休み。
林の中は涼しくて、朝からピクニックの準備をしている女性たち二人がいました。ちゃんと距離をとっています。
Two young girls having a picnic, observing a distance from each other nevertheless.
そこへ、幼馴染のアズキちゃんが到着。例の草地で育った同士で、アズキちゃんは群れ一番の俊足でした。
Azuki, a black Shiba Inu, arrives. She grew up playing with Taiga in the grass land that is under construction now. All the dogs from those days continue to be good friends.
久しぶりに会えて、お互い大興奮。
アズキちゃんはリードに繋がれていても、体の重いタイガは追いつけません。
ラブに転がされます。
ボーダーって、頭の良さではあらゆる犬種のなかでトップに来るそうですが、けっこう執念深かそう。。。
セナがヘロヘロ気味なのを見てか、お姉ちゃんのヒナが近づいてきました。喧嘩にならないよう、ヒナママの「遊んでるだけだから大丈夫だよ」との声に、加勢を見送ります。ボーダーの目つきが何とも。。。
Azuki was the fastest runner of the pack, and Taiga, with her heavy build, cannot catch up.
ドッグレースでもしているかのような走り方です。
Azuki runs like a racing dog.
何とも楽しそうな顔。
最近知り合った柴犬が到着。現在１歳と１か月の男の子で、名前はキリュウ（輝龍）。
A new friend, Kiryu, arrives. Kiryu is a male Shiba Inu, aged one year and 1 month old.
朗らかな子で、最初から物怖じせずにタイガに懐いてきました。
そのあとは林を通ってドッグランへ向いました。
After saying good-by to our friends, we passed through the woodland to go to the dog park.
清々しくて、木々に肺の中を掃除してもらっているような気分です。
売店のある広場を通りかかると、休憩中のチワワがベンチから飛び降りてタイガに近づいて来ました。女の子だそうですが、とても懐っこいです。
A friendly female Chihuahua jumps off the bench to greet Taiga as we were passing by.
タイガは飼い主さんたちに褒めてもらって嬉しそう。
ヒナの妹のセナ。ついに今日がドッグランデビューだそうです。セナは両親ともに甲斐犬ですが、たまに発生する白いコートの子です。（ちなみに、数年前にある人がYoutubeで、「雪甲斐」という造語で白い甲斐犬の子犬を紹介して有名になりました。）
ランに着くと、ヒナが入口で鼻を鳴らして迎えてくれました。
At the dog park entrance, Hina, a female Kaiken, greets us.
何だか私は先入観にとらわれているらしく、セナが紀州犬に見えてしまいます。
Hina's new sister is making a dog park debut this morning, having finished 3 vaccines. Sena is a full-blooded Kaiken, but with a white coat, an anomaly. The Kaiken Association does not recognise pale coloured Kaiken, so no pedigree certificate will be issued.
ヒナはすっかりお姉ちゃんになりました。ヒナとセナは同じ犬舎の出身です。
Hina and Sena come from the same kennel.
突然、セナがランの横を通りかかった親子に興味をもってフェンスにしがみつき始めました。
Sena sees a young child and her father passing by and goes to greet them.
小さな女の子は大喜びです。
The little girl is all excited.
子供同士で何か通じるものがあるのでしょうか。
Perhaps they feel some sort of connection as babies?
親子が去って、初めてタイガと挨拶。
Now, Sena comes to greet Taiga.
タイガはおこちゃまには興味ないので軽くかわします。
Taiga is not interested in kiddies and moves away.
そこへ近づいてきたフレンチブルはオシリにユニークな模様つき。
A French Bulldog with a unique pattern comes to introduce himself.
タイガの大好きなタービュレンのルイ君もやって来ました。
Taiga's boyfriend, Louis, a male Belgian Tervuren.
突然、セナがボーダーの子に追いかけっこを挑んでいきます。
Sena challenges a Border Collie to a race - she was in for a surprise.
このあと、ドッグランデビューのセナに大人たちによる洗礼が待っていました。
The Border Collie starts hazing Sena.
まずはボーダーに倒されて
転がされます。
騒ぎを聞きつけた大きなラブも参加。
The commotion attracts a large male Labrador.
更に、いつもは貴公子のルイ君まで加わりました。それでもセナは悲鳴を上げることなく抵抗しています。
Even Louis seems eager to join in.
大人たちは、代わりばんこにセナをバーンとはたいては通り過ぎます。
The grown-ups take turns in pushing and shoving Sena.
そのたびに起き上がるセナ。もう泥だらけ。
Sena never screams or whimpers, but she gets up each time.
ハスキーまでやって来ました。タイガは争いが嫌いなので、「あっちでやってよ」と言わんばかりに逃げます。
Taiga hates squabbles and wants no part, with a face 'If you must, do it over there'.
またしてもボーダーにシメられ、
Hina is getting worried about her little sister, but her mom tells her not to interfere since it is just a play.
なぜか、まだ２歳台のはずの柴犬のミオウ（美桜）ちゃんまで、大人顔して参加。シメる練習？
ヒナの監視が続きます。
Hina tries to hold back.
散々もまれた後で、セナは頭を振るって気持ちの切り替えです。ランのデビューにしてはかなりハードな経験だったかも。
At last, Sena's initiation is over.
ちょっと物足りなさそうな顔をしているボーダーの前で、ヒナが睨みを利かせています。
A strange, tense atmosphere prevails.
公園からの帰り道、近所の屋敷林を通ってまた緑の空気で肺を清浄。
On our way home, we stopped at the private woodland.
入口の日当たりのよいところにヒナゲシが咲いていました。
